The Blyde river canyon
The Blyde River Canyon is one of the largest canyons on earth. It has a length of 26 km and is on average around 800m deep. The landscape is known for its deep ravines, green valleys, fast-flowing rivers and waterfalls. It’s the home for lots of animals, among them are the ‘Big Five’, giraffes, antelopes and hippos.
The best way to discover the Blyde River Canyon is by foot. The Canyon has well waymarked hiking trails, with the lengths differing between one hour and even several days. It's also great to do a boat safari on the Blyde River Canyon with breath taking views.
